How did 2021 end for your business? Could you say you achieved your goals? Did you reach your success plateau (whatever that means for you)?
For many Virtual Assistants, they closed their doors; went back to working for a wage, doing a job they didn’t like. Things could have been very different for them if they had just incorporated one thing into their business.
Value (simple, huh!) is the one thing I’ve found that has been fundamental in JMJ – EA for a Day being a success. If you haven’t given it much thought yet, here’s one thing to get you started. Ask yourself, what does success mean to me? Well, success means the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. It’s what we do to accomplish this aim or purpose that determines your level of success or not.
Why Virtual Assistants Fail
There are eight reasons why Virtual Assistants fail in the first 12 – 18 months, and every single one of them is fixable.
- Lack of planning
- No why
- Don’t understand their target market
- Lack of focus and commitment
- Underestimate the work and time involved
- No flexibility
- Don’t add or give value
- Looking for quick and easy
When we all start, we want success, so what is success? Why don’t many of us obtain it? Often, we are chasing unobtainable goals. Things that are not real. If your goal isn’t achievable, you will struggle to make it happen if you can’t visualise it.
Why Virtual Assistants Succeed
- They’re organised
- Recordkeepers
- Know their competition
- Have a coach or mentor
- Are focused and diligent
- Make sacrifices
- Risk takers
- Provide value
The keyword in both of the above lists is value. If you’re not offering value or giving (and I’m not talking money) to your clients and customers. Why would they stay your clients and customers?
Give your Virtual Assistant business a boost for 2022 and consider how you can add more value to your clients and customers.
Try not to become a person of success, but rather try to become a person of value. – Albert Einstein
